Adopting a new furry family member

There are two ways to adopt -- fill out an app to meet a dog or cat in their foster home, or come to an adoption event.

Not all our pets come to events, and your "favorite" could get adopted beforehand.
So if you have a foster pet in mind, get started below.

Step 1. Send in your adoption application.

  • We work to match the dogs and cats in our care with the best applicant possible. This process is not a first come, first served basis. If more than one applicant applies for the same animal, we will carefully choose who we believe to be the best fit for the applicant and the animal being applied for.
  • Submit your completed application to nichole@pawcrazy.org.
  • We aim to review apps within 48 hours then we will get you in contact with the foster family if you are approved.

Step 2. Schedule a meeting with the foster family.

  • Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet with the family fostering the animal of interest.
  • All members of the adopting family must be present.
  • If you have other pets, a meet and greet with them is required, as well.

Step 3. Arrive at the meeting prepared!

  • If the foster family or the Paw Crazy representative approves of the adoption at the end of your meeting, you'll be allowed to take the dog or cat home with you for a trial adoption of 7 days.
  • Come prepared with a leash and collar for dogs or a carrier for cats.
  • A home visit from a Paw Crazy Representative is also required prior to taking the animal home.

Step 4. Receive adoption paperwork.

  • You'll receive their official adoption contract and vaccination/medical history through email after the 7 day trial adoption is completed.
  • The adoption fee is only refundable within the trial period. Should you choose to end the trial early and return the animal or return the animal after the trial adoption period, the adoption fee is no longer refundable.
